blog name change?

So I've been doing some thinking....

& I''m really wanting to do a blog name change.

Number One reason because well...the current one just doesn't make much sense to me.

I guess it did at the time?
Because I put a little "touch" of my midwestern values into everything I do

The Midwest is cool & all but what I really love about it is my home state, Kansas.

Where I was born & raised.

And what I love so much about Kansas is my small town & all I learned in that place.  Okay, and my current town because the Kansas Jayhawks are the absolute best...ever.

So all in all, I really need to change it to something that makes sense and defines who I am.

Guess I better start thinking.

fashion help for engagment pictures

So in a few weeks Jeff & I are getting our engagment pictures taken.
One of my best friends is taking our pictures & honestly I couldn't be more excited.

BUT.

I am in a bind of what in the world to wear!

via

I can't make decisions any other day, but throw in engagment picture and you have a girl stumped...
and stressed. Plus, the weather is so bipolar in Kansas I'm not really sure what to look for. I am "assuming" it will be around 60-70 degrees if not cooler.

via

Just gotta make sure I have all my bases covered.
I mean who wants to look like poo in their engagment pictures?

Not I!

via

Any suggestions on what would look best in pictures, or even picture ideas for that matter?
We are going to be taking pictures outside, at all of our "memorable" college locations, down town, and wherever mi amiga takes us!

via

I can hardly wait,  but need some advice to be looking all sorts of beautimous.
{yup.it's a word.}

:)

p.s. all photos via pinterest.
how do ya'll put the whole source in for pinterest?

Wedding Wednesday {reception, please}

It's a wedding kind of day!

And we have a VENUE.

{Thank the Lord}

This past weekend Jeff came back home with me and he got to check out the possible venue for our wedding. The first venue didn't work because it had been booked many months before and well, ya...it just wasn't happening. Then we decided to try another route and check out the local golf course in my home town.

I question myself, a little more than I should. And since day 1 of wedding planning I have questioned myself in everything. Always wondering if it was the "right" one or the "prettiest" one or what would look the best, yadda yadda yah. I am the worst decision maker possibly EVER. So this whole wedding planning biz is a bit rough on my brain. Thank goodness for my mom and aunts they keep me going with feedback and ideas. I have also realized that as long as it is about Jeff & myself then it will be perfect in the end.

However, the venue I just couldn't be sure in the decision until Jeff had seen it and liked it too. So as we pulled into the golf course I was all sorts of nervous of what he would say. I was reassured pretty quickly that it was the best decision and it would {hopefully} even be better than the first place we had chosen. Fingers crossed...tightly.

.
What's nice about the new venue are a few things but one of my favorite things is how cozy it is inside, and that it is a golf course. Fiance is currently obsessed with golf, and having the reception at a place where he loves is something pretty special that we get to do. The coziness is what makes it....it. Since it is a restaurant as well, it has a very warm feeling and that is exactly want my reception to be like. I want everyone to be comfortable and having a BLAST..in a glass.

I'm not gonna lie I wasn't happy about the change at first and really doubted it...but I'm coming along and really can't wait to get all the planning for it started and count down the days until August! I'm also putting in good karma in the mean time so it isn't a 150 degree day and our pictures are of us dripping sweat. Noooo thank you.

So CHEERS to a decision!

Happy Hump Day!

fiance returns, for good....sorta

Yet another wonderful weekend with the best family in the world.

I really can't get enough of them. Which is probably why I try to make it home whenever I have a chance. To me, there is just no greater thing than the gift of family. You betcha bottoms when I have a kid I want my family to be a HUGE part of that little wee one's life so it can get all the love I have received from them.

& I would be that person that would be perfectly content being my parents neighbors until ... forever.
I love my family. More than anything in this world. Even more than buffalo sauce. Yes, my love is pretty darn intense. I'm sure all of you know that though, I talk about them about once a day on here.

Poor Jeff, his ball went into the pasture on one hole.

Anyway.

Fiance came back to Kansas. About gosh darn stinking time. Right?

And it's for good this time. Sorta.

I will get to see him every single weekend {mostly} until we move in together after we get married next August. That news makes this girl extremely happy and feel like these past 7 months dragged on long enough. The team is back together, watch ouuuuut.

We spent the weekend golfing {me watching}, eating, drinking, hanging out, having lunch with Jeff's mommasita, enjoying the beautiful weather, and checking out the venue we are going to use for our wedding! {more on Wedding Wednesday}.

side note here: some how beer gets into a lot of my pictures but the funny thing is I hardly ever drink anymore. So no worries, I'm no alchy. Just an occasional drinky drink here and there.

The weather is absolutely PERFECT right now and wish it could be like this every single wingle day of my life. Fall is by far my favorite season and for some reason I have a feeling it won't be here long before winter storms in. Kansas weather never likes to keep the nice days long. Bummer. Oh well, I will enjoy them while they are here! Bring it on swearshirt weather & bundling up.

Now let's make this week speed on up so the weekend can come yet again. 3 weeks to go in my student teaching too! Can't lie, I'm ready to have my own classroom or own "office" when I do school counseling, this sharing business is for the birds. The kids aren't too fond of listening to three different teachers, and I wouldn't be either.

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and have a great Monday!!!!

Book Club Friday

"Cheeeers to the freakin' weekend...drank to that yeaaaa"

Ya I'm cheering.

And singing.

And shouting.

TGIF, baby.

I thought I'd link up with the lovely Heather for the first time eva on this Friday for some
BOOK CLUB action.

Something many of you probably don't know about me is that I love to read.
It de-stresses me.
Takes me away.
Puts me in a whole other world.
Makes my problems disappear while I'm reading.

However, during the school year I don't get to do it enough. I always think I should be reading a textbook
or doing homework, or something else productive. Ya, right...like that ever happened. But now that I'm student teaching I have a tad more time at night before I go to bed to read.

The last book I finished {maybe err two weeks ago} was The Hunger Games.

Julie, from PBFingers,  is the one who started this curiosity. She did a book review and said it was a must so I figured I'd try it. Then I tweeted how I wanted to read it badly on twitta and the oh so sweet Sierra said she would send me a copy of the book! So thank you both for the help!

Anyway.

Verdict: must read

Reading Time: 2 nights

Comments: I.could.not.put.it.down

It took me a chapter or two to get into but once it really got into the plot, I couldn't stop reading. The dynamics of the story are just unreal. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book wondering what in the world was going to happen next. I almost don't even want to read the rest of the series I liked it so much. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone really. It's not my typical kind of book but I got sucked right in and think you would too! It's at least worth a try :)

Any recommendations on books?

I am always needing new ones!

& maybe I'll start remembering to return my books to the library on time.

prolly not.

HAPPY FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDAY!!!!!

truthful tuesday

It's that time of the weeeeeeeeeek.

Here's the TRUTH...

{well, at least some...}

I still haven't gotten the hang out this whole 8 hour work day thing.
I am exhausted.
Everynight.
I feel about 150.
Hopefully this working out will pump me back up!

I am pumped about powerstep tonight.
I did Zumba last night but pretty much just laughed at myself the entire time.
The music also wasn't the best so it was hard for me to get into it.
Powerstep, however, has some jamming music and really gets me a sweatin.
My kind of workout!

New shows all week!
Criminal Minds & Law & Order SVU.
Amazing Race
Yesssssssss.

I still don't get people.
& probably never will.....

What are you truthful for?

Ya...no button.
Sorry, I've been a bit....busy.
Forgive me.

iphone fun

Today I'm linking up with Erin & Savanah for some
FUN WITH OUR PHONE Monday!

Being that my phone has 1,429 photos on it, maybe I should have started
linking up awhile ago!

P.S. I seriously cannot make myself delete pictures. Houston, we have a problem.

JOIN IN!

Adorable puppy I saw in the back of someone's truck when I was back home this past weekend. I went over to pet it and then when I tried to leave she started crying and trying to jump out of the truck. So I stayed and kept petting her until her owner came back to the truck. Her name is Riley & she is the most adorable 9 week old black lab I have every seen. I think she wanted me to be her momma, and she licked my head telling me so. :)

This is my {my family's} little dog Gabbie. I got her for my birthday when I was around 10-11 but my unresponsible self just couldn't manage to get up at two in the morning every night so she got passed to my momma. She is a part of the family and I love that dog so much. Even when she claws my face because I stop petting her. I swear animals are just as much family as people.

Best fried chicken & coleslaw  EVER.

Thanks for the amazing dinner & weekend :) The best parents in the world! Love them both more than words could ever say.

Me trying to see how awful I looked in these classes. Ya, definitely look like a big stinking bug. Dang it. Sunglasses and me just don't get along. If only my head would grow!

HAPPY MONDAY!!!!

surrender

On this Sunday I am simpy thankful. Thankful for all the blessings I have been given. Thanking God for providing me with a loving, wonderful family who I can always count on. Thankful to be healthy, and the ability to live the life others cannot.

Sometimes life gets in the way and I forget to count my blesssings. Sometimes I let me anger, frustration worries, etc. get in the way of all the amazing things right before my very eyes. Sometimes my vision gets cloudy. But then I am always reminded, I am blessed beyond belief. And I thank the Lord for that, and all that I have been given.

{So take you as You find me

all my fears and failures, fill my life again

I give my life to follow

Everything I believe in and now I surrender.}
